IT IS Show week in Katherine and while travellers from all over the country are rolling into town Katherinites should get ready for visitors from outer space, a leading UFOlogist says.
Territory UFO spotter Alan Ferguson said although this year’s UFO season had been “very quiet”, it was likely for “the guys from upstairs to come down” for the Katherine Show.
“When there’s a crowd of people and fireworks, it usually gets them excited,” Mr Ferguson said.
“And with the army exercise (Talisman Sabre) on, that’s usually a good time for them to come around.”
Last year the crowd at the Katherine Show campdraft got spooked by a bright light that travelled across the sky and suddenly disappeared.
Witnesses said they saw a bright light travelling slowly across the sky for several seconds just before sunset.
