Saturday’s fun fours event was well supported.
It was great to see new bowlers and junior bowlers participate.
Everyone played in the spirit of the event and voted the afternoon’s activities a success.
A big thank you to all who helped prepare and host the Katherine Bowls Club Presentation Dinner.
It was a great night where club members celebrated the success of peers and acknowledged a wide range of winners across a number of disciplines.
The most improved bowler was announced: Lyn Morrison took home the coveted trophy for 2011.
On Sunday, a small but dedicated group fronted up for the Katherine Bowls Club AGM.
A special mention was made of the efforts of the outgoing committee for all their hard work during 2011.
This committee was capably led by President, Warwick Ledsham.
For personal reasons, Warwick declined to stand for another term.
Voted in for the position of Club President for 2012 by a total majority of all attendees was Mal Trattles.
Red Rooster Jackpot Pairs
Lyn and Snake lead all the way in their match against Bron and Pat.
They got off to a handy lead but were given a real scare on the 9th end where Bron and Pat picked up four shots.
Lyn and Snake kept the lead and took out this match.
Carol and Russell had a tough assignment against Patrick and Dave.
Patrick and Dave had major multiples on the 6th and 7th ends which helped stretch their lead even further.
Patrick and Dave were convincing winners of the game and the Red Rooster Chickens on this occasion.
There was double, double toil and trouble when George from the Bell’s Shakespeare Company joined Sandy and Warwick to take on Jen, Kitty and Mal.
George’s bowling prowess can be likened to that of a maddening Macbeth.
He drove everyone crazy.
Not put off by George’s over-the-top dramatic episodes; Jen, Kitty and Mal kept away from the poisonous barbs and finished the game as the winners.
Wednesday Night’s Red Rooster Jackpot Pairs jackpot is still up for grabs.
Someone has to win the $200 bounty. It could be you. Wouldn’t it be nice?
