The Pirates have been in good form without losing a game this season, however, the Brahmans have been close contenders and are not far behind.

The Pirates came out strong and dominated field position and territory in the opening exchanges but the Brahmans held strong through their defense and limited the competition favourites to only two tries in the opening half.

The Brahmans also struck blood in the first half locking the scores at 12 – 7 at half time.

The second half saw the Brahmans opening the half with a try to take the lead, though the Pirates were quick to answer and the points began to pile on racing in for four unanswered tries, before the Brahmans finally cracked the black and red wall again grabbing a consolation try on the siren to finish the game 36 – 21 in the Pirates favour.

In the second game the Barbarians took on the Lions at home.

The Barbarians attacked quickly from the kick-off and managed to put points on early.

The Lions rallied and were deep in the Barbarians territory only to be denied the points, the Barbarians then went on the attack for the rest of the half and scored a number of tries.

In the second half the Lions rallied to be in a attacking position in barbarians territory and each time the Barbarians counter attack lead to tries being scored which saw the Barbarians running out clear winners.

This week sees the Lions vs Brahmans at 6.30 and the Pirates vs Barbarians at 8.15 at the Katherine Sport and Rec Club.
