SOME of the younger swimmers from Katherine Swimming Club had a great time on Saturday, showing off the huge improvements they have made in their swimming and achieving some great personal best times, in the McDonalds 9 & Under series meet and time trials.
In the 5 and 6-years-boys, Chance Conroy, Joe Dobson and Joseph Gazey swam with great enthusiasm with Joe swimming 25m butterfly, freestyle and backstroke, Chance swimming 25m breaststroke and freestyle, and Joseph swimming 25m freestyle and backstroke, and taking a monstrous 15 seconds off his backstroke time.
Paige Lawson, Jasmine Bilske and Tahnee Brown all swam really well in the 8-years-girls events, particularly backstroke, with Paige swimming a personal best in 50m backstroke, Jasmine swimming a personal best in 25m backstroke and Tahnee taking 10 seconds off her 25m backstroke time.
In the 8-years boys Drew Thorley swam a lovely 25m breaststroke, achieving a three second personal best, Sebastian Gazey swam personal best times in both his events - 25m freestyle and 25m butterfly - and Leroy Gazey achieved a personal best in his 25m breaststroke.
The nine-year-olds, Kira Brown and Bradley Hayman, had some great swims with Bradley swimming personal bests in both his 50m freestyle and 50m breaststroke, and Kira swimming 25m breaststroke for the first time and swimming a good 25m butterfly resulting in a personal best.
Katie Gamble put in a great effort in her events, swimming 25m butterfly for the first time and also swimming 50m freestyle and 25m breaststroke.
Thanks to Bec for organising the event, and to the parents for their assistance in running it.
Congratulations and well done to all the swimmers on their achievements.
