Week 1 - 3
Well, the first three weeks of my challenge have been exciting but a little overwhelming.
Giving up junk food has been a bit difficult.
The cravings in the first 10 days were crazy.
However after that initial detox, it became much easier to manage.
I am doing this under the guidance of a Nutritionist – Natalie Buffa.
Her business, “Zest Nutrition’ is based in Sydney but has a wonderful online service.
Many people have been asking me why I am even bothering with this challenge.
Well, I decided to choose ‘Carers Australia’ in honour of my Grandfather who recently passed away and also in honour of a good friend who is sadly suffering from Multiple Systems Atrophy.
My close family and friends were unable to look after these loved ones fulltime and have had to rely on Nursing Homes and the Health System for their care.
Many people who do spend their time caring for the sick, elderly or those in need, suffer emotionally, socially and financially. Carers Australia provide for these needs and I simply want to raise awareness and funds for this wonderful ministry.
Perhaps my challenge will also make Carers in need aware of the support which is available to them.
I can’t believe how much support I have had from many businesses and individuals around town.
Thank you to MR Engineering, Friendzy Hair Team, McDonalds, Mitre10, Toyworld, The Country Club, St Vinnies, You’re Kidding Clothing Warehouse, Westpac, Rod n Rifle and NT Technology for contributing to my cause.
The Golf Club will be running a few events in support of my challenge.
On May 31 there will be a ‘Barefoot Lawn Bowls’ evening where all families are welcome.
Please email me in advance on debbieunwin82@gmail.com if you would like to attend.
So please, feel free to join me at the Golf Club for a few events or visit my website to and see how I am going.
