Katherine club gains NT Tourism accreditation

A KATHERINE business is the first - and only - licensed club to be accredited with Tourism NT.

The Katherine Golf and Country Club spent 18 months working on sustainable operations, business and marketing plans to lift the standard of its business in an aim to be accredited with Tourism NT.

The Golf and Country Club has now been listed as tourism-orientated business - alongside major tourism operator in the Northern territory, such as Kakadu National Park’s Gagudju Crocodile Holiday Inn and Darwin’s Crocodylus Park.

“To become accredited meant we had to look at responsibilities and duties and change some procedures and rules,” club manager Frank Dalton said. “But it was all worth it - the staff are happy and it means we’re able to provide a better environment for our customers

and tourists.”
