FOR two weeks Bulman police officers and 70 local children set out armed with torches, buckets and gloves in a bid to fetch the highest number of toads and take out the top title of the second Annual Bulman Toad Muster.
Encompassing educational, environmental and community engagement goals, the main objective of the toad muster was to teach children of the need to destroy toads humanely.
After much excitement and enthusiasm building in the community leading up to the muster, the first night saw 52 community members out in force to hunt for the cane toad, collecting more than 260 creatures.
A total of 677 toads were collected in the community bust.
