Tipperary Group to hold biggest sale in 30 years

THE Northern Territory-based Tipperary Group is offering some 6000 forward store Brahman cattle at a special sale on June 22 at the Phoenix Park, Katherine NT (the old Katherine Dairy).

On offer are approximately 3000 pregnancy-tested-in-calf cows, 500 PTIC heifers, 1000 steers, 1000 heifers, 500 empty slaughter females, and 100 slaughter and herd bulls.

The cattle will be yarded in pens of 12 decks and available as six deck lots.

Tipperary Group manager David Warriner said the cattle are well acclimatized to top end conditions and are well bred.

He expects strong interest from buyers from many areas of Australia.

“This is a good opportunity to buy some bigger lines of top quality Brahman cattle,” Mr Warriner said.

“The cattle are currently running on Elizabeth Downs and Douglas and are in forward store condition.

“The cattle are being offered in lots with the intention of making road train transport as efficient as possible.”

The June 22 Phoenix Park sale is expected to be the biggest store cattle sale held in Katherine for more than 30 years.
