A MAJOR Pauls dairy product has been recalled across the Northern Territory due to a contamination outbreak of the dangerous bacteria Listeria.
A warning has been issued for all Pauls Smarter White Milk products in one litre plastic bottles with the date marking “Use By 20 Jun”, and shoppers are being cautioned not to purchase or consume the contaminated milk.
The affected product has been distributed to:

Listeria infection through contaminated food or drink can be extremely dangerous for pregnant women, the elderly, and people with inhibited immune function. Early symptoms include fever, headache, tiredness, aches and pains, which can lead to more serious problems including Meningitis and Septicaemia.
Food Recall Coordinator for Food Safety, Amber Gallagher said Food Safety is waiting on more information from Pauls product supplier Parmalat as to what steps are being taken.
