WHAT a great night of racing we had.
Those who came witnessed the battle of the bombers in the feature, with the three cars that were left having a turn up front over 15 laps.
In the end Tom Pfenning took it out with Brett Thomsen second and Colin Menzies third.
Unfortunately Holly Kokegei and Benny Thompsen didn’t make it through the night.
Junior Sedans saw young Haydan Brown from Darwin in first place, followed by Lance Carew, also from Darwin, and our own Raymond Thompson in third place.
Amcas also had some nail-biting action with father and son battling it out in the feature with dad Dave Bretten coming first and Tim Bretton finish in second place.
Unfortunately our other Amca driver, Jason Hillier, didn’t finish the night due to mechanical problems.
Senior karts also had a good night with Brett Harison from Darwin coming first, our own local girl Marine Hopkins second and Darwinite Tim Fry finishing third.
Junior karts - what can I say - they are getting faster each time they race.
Young Jack Hopkins took out the night with young Danielle Thomsen hot on his tail in second place.
Thank you to AJ and Tom for the burnouts.
I think Tom’s burnout was for Kim - it was their wedding annivesary.
Thanks to Chris for cooking up a storm in the main canteen and to all our other volunteers and officials who do an amazing job.
And to Brett who did an amazing job grading the track once again, Dwayne Barkley for announcing and to Tayloraye for the excellent job of singing the national anthem.
Also thank you to the ambos and the Katherine volunteer fire service for the great job they do on the night.
And to all our sponsors thank you, but most of all to all spectators who came and supported us.
We hope that you enjoyed the night and you will all be back to support us again for another great night of racing on July 28.
If anyone wants to get involved in the club or become a volunteer give Brett a call on his mobile on 0427187525 and he will be happy to help you with any questions or
enquiries.
