Brahman’s Tom McLellan was a standout with two tries and three conversions, with other tries going to Michael Cutillo and Tom Whally.
Brahmans now move to the top of the Katherine Rugby Union ladder, with Barbarians dropping down to second spot after dominating for the majority of the 2014-15 season.
On Saturday night, the University Pirates, who took out the Darwin A-grade competition last year, fronted a tough Katherine Pirates side, which was made up with mostly Pirates, with some Barbarians and Brahmans.
There was a strong crowd of more than 150 on the sidelines to watch both teams battle it out.
The Darwin-based club eventually won the clash.
A KRU spokesman thanked the Katherine Sports and Recreation Club for hosting the games, and the Katherine Krocs for manning the barbecue.
On February 27, Pirates will battle Barbarians at the Katherine Sports and Recreation Club in what is shaping up as a thrilling match.
Kick off is at 7pm.
