After recently electing a new committee for 2015, the club has already held two events at the Katherine Showground and is gearing up for another thrilling five hours of competition on March 28.
The club only started a few years ago and has already gained plenty of members, competitive racers and a coveted affiliation with the Australian Barrel Horse Association.
In the last event on March 14, 15 horse and rider combinations took to the arena, following on to the club’s bumper Valentine’s Day-themed get together last month.
Krissy Lambert is the new club president, with Rosalyn Beckhouse, Tash Macqueen and Natasha Paul taking on the vice-president, secretary and treasurer roles respectively.
A club spokeswoman said Saturday’s event, which will begin at 6pm, was open to riders of all skill levels.
“Riders of all ages are invited to become a member and compete in junior, juvenile or open categories,” the spokeswoman said.
In a bid to continue the development of club members, Sarah Hoare will run another barrel racing clinic at the showground on April 25 and 26.
