ALMOST two kilograms of cannabis has been removed from the Top End supply chain following a random traffic stop near Mataranka at the weekend.

After witnessing suspicious behaviour by its two occupants, Northern Territory Police officers intercepted a vehicle on the Stuart Highway and discovered 1.7kg of cannabis hidden among luggage.
Both occupants were arrested and charged with the possession and supply of a commercial quantity of cannabis.
