With the Big Rivers Football League clash promising a sneak peek at the upcoming finals series, players did not disappoint as they fought out a scrappy encounter to guarantee one side a top-two finish to the regular season.
The game was there for the taking by both sides on many occasions, but missed shots at goal and great defending seemed to curtail this.
Wurramarra, Silver, Lansen and Pauly Amarant played well for for the Bulldogs, with Amarant taking an absolute hanger in the final quarter.
Farrington and Kane Gleeson were dangerous up forward for the Camels, while Barwick, Buderick, Broderick and Bell played well in the midfield.
Ngukurr had its chances in the last half but could not convert and, despite taking more scoring shots than the Katherine outfit, finished the game well behind on the scoreboard.
The Bulldogs kept their opponent goalless in the third stanza, which was a feat in itself.
The Camels adapted their play at times after getting sucked up the ground by the Bulldogs, which gave them no forward options when they did clear the ball from their backline.
These teams – who sit first and third on the 2015 ladder – could meet again in the finals series in what would shape up as an entertaining affair with the chance to make it to the big dance in September.
In the first Friday night game, the Beswick Bears provided the Tindal Magpies with a football lesson as Sean Brown slotted 10 majors for the 174-point winners.
The second Friday game of the round produced a thriller when the Kalano Bombers delivered a one-point win against the Arnhem Crows at Nitmiluk Oval.
Bonson put on a master class for the Crows, however, it was not enough for to secure the competition points for the team.
