Nick Lovering admits it has been awhile since the Katherine Souths Sports Club – known as the Crocs to their Big Rivers Football League enemies – received a mention in local sporting circles but said he was keen to get it off the ground and reinvent it as a family-friendly organisation.
“The idea started as a football club, but once I started talking to people, we realised we wanted to make it more than blokes,” he said.
A meeting will be held at the Katherine Country Club at 7pm on November 11 and Mr Lovering urged interested parties to come along and find out what it was all about.
There are plans for Australian rules, netball and cricket teams to compete locally under the KSSC banner.
