The 14 students from the still-new senior school celebrated with a mass, a formal dinner and a small presentation.
With such a small graduating class, student Cole Usher said his Year 12 experience was one that he would remember fondly.
Now that school is over, Mr Usher said he planned to go to Katherine Rural College to further his education and set himself up for a strong future.
“I’m going to do some courses, try to be a parks ranger, but try and have a trade behind me as well,” he said.
During the graduation, there were speeches from the principal and other members of faculty, however, student Chad Robinson kept the crowd entertained with his moving presentation.
Mr Robinson put together a slideshow featuring baby photos of all the graduates to reflect the journeys they had made
“While we sit here, right now, we can’t help but looking back at what we have done with ourselves,” he said.
“How far we have come and how much we have changed.”
Born in Adelaide but a Katherinite most of his life, Mr Robinson was one of a few graduates who attended the school since Transition.
Now that he has has put away his books, he said he planned to work while completing a criminology course, with the aim of becoming a police officer.
He added that the highlight of his final year was “being around people that make you laugh and always give you a good time”.
Principal Denis Graham wished the students well as they looked towards the future.
