Organised by Kerri Watkins, a member of the Relay for Life team the Energisers, the event was one of several fundraising activities undertaken by team members; and saw a vast range of independent consultants and creators of handcrafted goods display their wares for eager shoppers.
Ms Watkins said she arranged the event as part of the team’s efforts to raise $2000 for CCNT.
“I doubt there would be one person in Katherine who has not been affected by cancer in one way or another,” she said.
“This afternoon is important in bringing the community together and raising valuable funds for the cause.”
Ms Watkins said she had previously held a fundraising car boot sale, with another planned for September 10 on the corner of Lindsay and Second streets, Katherine.
CCNT Katherine branch cancer information and support officer Selina Kiernan said she was delighted with the afternoon.
She encouraged everyone to support the upcoming Relay for Life event on September 3 and said teams could still register.
