The event will be held from September 2 to 4.
With more than 600 vehicles expected from across the country, the nation’s best street machines, motorcycles, elite show cars, hot rods, classics and exotics will be on show throughout the event.
Among them will be at least six cars lovingly restored by members of the Katherine car club.
Club member Doug Glasson will show a 1938 Ford De Luxe and a 1971 HG Holden ute.
A vehicle enthusiast all his life, Mr Glasson said that after attending the Red Centre NATS last year as a spectator, he couldn’t wait to return with his family this year as an entrant.
“You see millions of dollars worth of restored cars there,” he said.
“You dream and then you come home and want to spend more money on your own.”
Mr Glasson said vehicle restoration helped preserve the history of motoring.
“Unless these cars are restored, you’ll never see them again,” he said.
“It’s good fun.
“It’s a very expensive hobby, but it’s good fun.”
