The Katherine team boarded a four-wheel-drive bus with teams from Palmerston, Alice Springs, Tennant Creek and Darwin to trial for the NT representative team in Gove.
Braithlee Payne, Jace Byers, Tarkyn Rosas and Josh Healy from Katherine impressed the selectors enough to make the NT team.
Katherine manager Angus Strachan said the trip was a great experience for the team.
“For a lot of the boys it was the first time they had gone on trips without their parents,” he said.
Strachan said the Katherine boys team work was a highlight of tournament.
“One of the good things about the trip was that every Katherine player scored a try,” he said.
