As part of the Visitor Information Centre’s croc safety awareness display, people who may never have seen a crocodile can become familiar with the size of the scary creatures.
“It’s been very popular with children and particularly fishermen,” centre manager Faith Williams said.
The centre has a large carpet square on display featuring an exact outline of an “average” crocodile to educate people of the creature’s size and potential risk.
While the grey nomad travellers are now dwindling off because of the coming wet, the centre is seeing many school holiday makers and increasing numbers of anglers.
“The fishermen will come through right through until early next year,” Ms Williams said.
She believes many of the anglers are attracted to the NT Government’s $1 million barramundi catching contest.
The “croc safety awareness” exhibits are on display until the end of October.
