There are still many spectators travelling down to the bridge this morning to inspect what is believed to be the highest river for years.
The Bureau of Meteorology recorded 2.2mm overnight at Tindal although town gauges recorded about 12mm from the thunderstorm overnight.
A minor flood warning is still in place for Katherine River Gorge Road.
The river level is falling sharply at Nitmiluk.
The bureau is forecasting more rain for Katherine for the rest of the week although not the monsoonal totals that it did last week.
