Two cars were involved in the crash at the corner of Maluka Road and the Stuart Highway about 8.15am.
A spokeswoman from St John’s Ambulance said it appeared one car had T-boned the other, crashing into its side.
The spokeswoman said the woman and a seven-year-old girl were taken to hospital for observation although no serious injuries were reported.
Police attended the accident, located near their headquarters, and the crashed vehicles were moved off the highway and traffic continued to flow.
