A youth has been arrested after a man died in Katherine East overnight.

The 17-year-old youth is today being interviewed by Major Crime Squad detectives over the death of the 46-year-old man in Hudspeth Place.
A police vehicle is still parked outside the premises today.
Police were called to the home about 10.20 last night.
Major Crime Squad detective acting Sen.-Sgt Matt Allen said police were called to the home.
”Police and St John’s Ambulance crews attended the scene a short time later and the man was pronounced dead,” Sgt Allen said.
Sgt Allen said the 17-year-old male youth has since been arrested as police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of the man.
Major Crime detectives are on the scene and investigations are continuing.
A 39-year-old woman was charged with the stabbing murder of a man in Katherine on May 14. The 42-year-old man was killed in the early hours of Mother’s Day.
It is the second Katherine woman to be accused with a stabbing murder this year after a 21-year-old was charged with murder after a February 24 incident at Kalano.
