The annual two-day event attracts riders from Katherine and the surrounding region to compete in a number of classes including hack, showjumping and western.
Katherine Horse and Pony Club treasurer Kylie Leonhardt said many riders use the gymkhana to receive feedback and prepare for the Katherine Show in July.
“Some people just like to go out and experience competing; others are using this as practice for the show,” she said.
Sophie and Kym Henderson judged the first events of the morning, the rider classes.
“There was a high calibre of riding,” Kym Henderson said.
“It’s great to see local people supporting their club.”
