Katherine Detectives charged three men with drug offences following a traffic apprehension near Maningrida.

Det. Sen. Sgt Mark Malogorski said police pulled over a Nissan Patrol on the Maningrida Access road 30 kilometres outside the township yesterday morning.
“In the vehicle, which was carrying unrestrained passengers at the time; police allegedly located 588 grams of cannabis and 19 litres of alcohol,” Det. Malogorski said.
“Police believe these items were bound for the community of Maningrida where they would be sold for significant profit.”
A 44-year-old was charged with:
- Supply and possess cannabis – commercial quantity
- Bring liquor into alcohol protected area
- Drive unlicensed/unregistered/uninsured
- Drive with child in load space of vehicle
- Drive with adult in load space of vehicle
A 24-year-old was charged with:
- Supply and possess cannabis – commercial quantity
- Bring liquor into alcohol protected area
- Smoke with child in vehicle
A 23-year-old was charged with:
- Supply and possess cannabis – commercial quantity
- Bring liquor into alcohol protected area
- Adult passenger ride in open load space
All three men will appear in Maningrida Local Court on September 5.
The vehicle has since been seized by Northern Territory Police.
