Six Katherine boys represented the NT at the Australian Schoolboys Rugby Championships on the Gold Coast this month.

Terry Gillett, Matthew Hudson, Michael Taylor, William Ashley, Adrian Rosas, and Luke Clifford were selected from Katherine.
The team competed in three competitions within the same carnival.
Three games were played in the Rugby 10s carnival.
In game one, NT Schoolboys defeated Paeroa College 22 - 5. Tries to Joseph James Cameron, Todd McManus, Moran Sailor, and Wayne Bilston. Conv to Todd McManus
In game two the NT defeated Fairfield College 23-18. Tries to Joseph James Cameron, Wayne Bilston (3) and Todd McManus . Conv to Harry Berns (3).
Unfortunately in the grand final the NT Schoolboys went down to South Australia 24 -12 to finish runners up in the open division. Tries to Harry Berns and Wayne Bilston. Conv to Harry Berns (2).
As part of the Gold Coast rugby carnival the NT Schoolboys came away with a close win against Morrinsvale College 10-5 in game one. Tries to Hone Edwards and Trey Crowley.
In game two the NT lost to Wairarapa College 35-0 in a very physical match.
In the final match the NT defeated Waihi College 40-12 . Tries apiece to Moran Sailor, Adrian Rosas, Harry Berns, William Liddy, Wayne Bilston and Koby Snowden, and conv to Adrian Rosas (1), Hone Edwards (2) and Harry Berns (2).
The NT Schoolboys also competed in the National Division II Championships while on the Gold Coast.
In the first Division II game the NT came away with a convincing win against Tasmania 45-12. Tries to Ammon Chan Boon, Joseph James Cameron, Adrian Rosas, Hone Edwards, Wayne Bilston, and Reece Hohn. Conversions (6) and a penalty Hone Edwards (6) and a penalty goal.
In their final game for the Division II Championships NT were out played by South Australia with the final score being 31-17. Tries to William Liddy, Harry Berns and a try and conversion to Hone Edwards. Despite the team being plagued by injuries they kept their heads up and played with heart.
Adrian Rosas, and Luke Clifford were named on the Australian Division II merit team after they played exceptionally well during the carnival.
Katherine Rugby Union president Marc Garnder said this year was the greatest number of Katherine players ever chosen in the Northern Territory Schoolboys Rugby squad.
“I’m very proud of the strength in junior rugby union in Katherine and the fact that we have six very talented young men representing the Territory at such a prestigious event,” he said.
