Police arrested a total of 10 people, issued 30 Infringement Notices and tipped out more than 40 litres of liquor.
Katherine Police Station officer-in-charge Dave Hamlyn said police conducted a high visibility, two day operation at the show and at licenced premises.
“Officers from general duties, traffic, investigations and mounted Police were out in force patrolling over the weekend,” Sen. Sgt Hamlyn said.
“Katherine Police are pleased to report that the majority of ‘show-goers’ were well behaved over the show long weekend.
“Officers worked alongside security staff and licensing inspectors and with the exception of a few unruly party goers, most people enjoyed themselves and chose not to come to the attention of police.”
Police set up a number of Random Breath Testing stations with more than 430 drivers being breath tested and/or drug tested.
“Unfortunately, despite the high visibility police presence, four people were arrested, two for drink driving and two for driving with a prohibited drug in blood,” Sen. Sgt Hamlyn said.
“All in all most people chose to do the right thing and it was great to see everyone enjoying themselves over the two days.
“We look forward to the return of the Katherine Show next year.”
