FRIGHT NIGHT: A technical problem at Pine Creek caused last night's power outage in Katherine.

The electricity went out right across Katherine for 14 minutes last night.

A spokeswoman for Power and Water said the power line between Darwin and Katherine was “tripped” at 8.07pm.

”The outage was due to technical issues at Pine Creek power station,” the spokeswoman said.

About 4000 customers were impacted by the outage.

“Crews worked to restore the tripped line,” the spokeswoman said, and the “interruption” lasted for a maximum of 14 minutes.
