The woman was injured when she fell from her horse and it rolled over her at remote Bunda Station.
CareFlight’s Top End Rescue Helicopter took off from Darwin at 3.30pm yesterday, stopping to refuel at Kununurra before continuing on to the scene 178km west of Lajamanu.
The helicopter with doctor and flight nurse aboard landed at 7pm, providing further care to the woman after she had received first aid from staff at the cattle station.
The woman was treated for suspected leg fractures and with spinal precautions.
CareFlight, who operates the Top End Medical Retrieval Service on behalf of the Northern Territory Government, flew the woman to Royal Darwin Hospital shortly after midnight in a stable condition.
