CEO Rob Jennings took the chair to swear in the newly elected councillors, and presented them with plenty of paperwork to prepare for their new roles.
The first formal council meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 12 from 5.30pm.
In the absence of re-elected Mayor Fay Miller, it is likely a deputy mayor, to be chosen at this meeting, will chair the meeting.
On the informal discussion held today at the swearing in ceremony, that deputy mayor is likely to be the returned alderman Peter Gazey.
