Some areas have switched back on, some are still waiting and others have given up and gone home.
Sections of Katherine were again without electricity today after another fault.
A Power and Water spokeswoman said the same transformer which overheated yesterday, had again overheated today.
While many areas of town lost power for a short period, the section of shops in the middle of Katherine Terrace has borne the brunt of the outages.
Yesterday’s outage was around 4pm and today the power went out at 1.15pm and was progressively restores from about 2.30pm.
Temperatures were a sticky 35 degrees at the time.
The spokeswoman said crews were on site and a generator would be used to bring power back.
Power and Water officials have blamed a succession of hot days for the outages.
Some had to send staff home early yesterday, and today it seems others were sent home as well.
