Residents have been frustrated trying to report the fault through Telstra’s automated service.

A Telstra spokeswoman yesterday told Katherine Times they were “experiencing some transmission issues with our base station at Ferguson”.

The spokeswoman said they “anticipated” services would be restored later today.

“We sincerely apologise to our customers and thank them for their patience. We are working to rectify the issues as quickly as possible and anticipate services will be restored tomorrow afternoon."'

Mobile phones haven't worked in the area since Thursday afternoon.
