Territory Families is providing travel subsidies for organisations like the community legal service to attend over the three days.
The conference will be held at the Darwin Convention Centre from Monday to Wednesday with the theme Lead and Change: Exploring alternatives to challenge our practice.
Territory Families CEO Ken Davies says the agency works closely with NTCOSS, which is the peak organisation representing non-government and community organisations that deliver important social and community services across the Territory.
“Territory Families is focused on strengthening its partnerships with the NGO sector through the co-design of programs and services that help to build a safe and better future for NT families,” he said.
“As a conference sponsor we are particularly pleased to have been able to work with NTCOSS to convert our sponsorship funding into travel subsidies, so more organisations outside Darwin can attend.
Over the three days of the conference, sessions will cover a wide range of topics including Correctional Settings for Women, Child Protection Systems and a panel discussion on the Power of Advocacy.
Guest speakers include NT Royal Commissioner Mick Gooda, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Social Justice Commissioner June Oscar, Principal Youth Court Judge in New Zealand, Australian Judge John Walker, Council of Social Service CEO Dr Cassandra Goldie, Western Desert Dialysis CEO Sarah Brown and Sisters Inside CEO Debbie Kilroy.
The full conference program is available on the NTCOSS website.
