A CareFlight King Air turbo-prop aircraft with a flight doctor and flight nurse on board was tasked to Kalkarinji in a late-night mission last night, after two people were injured in a motor vehicle accident about 30km from the community at around midnight.

A passer-by and Kalkarinji clinic staff provided initial treatment to the 45-year-old man and a female, and transported them to Kalkarinji airstrip where they were met by the CareFlight crew who airlifted them to Royal Darwin Hospital.
The male received treatment for suspected chest, back and leg injuries, and the woman required aeromedical retrieval with spinal precautions.
They arrived in stable conditions at RDH at around 4am.
For CareFlight, who operates the Top End Medical Retrieval Service on behalf of the NT Government, this was the fourth serious motor vehicle accident crews attended this week alone.
On Monday six people, including two babies, were airlifted to Darwin after they were injured in a rollover on the Stuart Highway near Emerald Springs.
On Tuesday a 50-year-old man was airlifted to Royal Darwin Hospital after he was involved in a car crash on a remote stretch of road near Woodycupildiya, about an hour from Peppimenarti in the Daly River region.
And on Wednesday a CareFlight King Air turbo-prop aircraft was tasked to Borroloola, after a 58-year-old man suffered a suspected broken leg in a single vehicle crash on the Savannah Way.
