The average rainfall for Katherine in October is 27.7mm.
The rain only lasted several minutes and would have been lucky to wet the bottom of the gauge.
Katherine received its first official rain for 170 days on October 1.
Fleeting shower a relief
A meagre but welcome total of 1.2mm was officially recorded by the Bureau of Meteorology on October 1.
The Bureau said there is a five per cent chance of more rain tomorrow.
