Depending on where you live, last night's rain brought about 30mm.
Some readings in town were about 20mm while the official reading at the Tindal weather station was 34.2mm.
It all fell between 12.30am-2.30am with some noisy thunder and lightning along the well.
But apart from these occasional storms, the weather is all about heat for the rest of the week.
The Bureau of Meteorology is now predicting our record run of heat will begin today with 39 degrees followed by 40 degree days on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
It reached 37 degrees yesterday with humidity levels above 50 per cent.
A reminder that Katherine's February record is 39 degrees recorded in 2016.
