About a week ago the 29-year-old was stopped twice by police, both times he was booked after being found driving an unregistered and insured car.
Oh yes, he didn't have a licence to drive either.
Darwin Traffic Operations officers gave him tickets on two separate occasions in that one day.
Those same two police officers saw the same bloke driving the same car yesterday at 10.30am.
They again pulled him over.
The car had not been registered in the interim, it has not been insured, police claim.
And no licence yet either, they allege.
This time the police had had enough.
They arrested the driver and took him for a ride in a legal vehicle to the Darwin police station.
He was charged with:
- Drive a Motor Vehicle While Unlicensed
- Drive Uninsured Motor Vehicle
- Drive Unregistered Motor Vehicle
Senior Sergeant Angela Stringer said it’s disappointing the man was apprehended twice in one day and chose to keep driving regardless.
“As a result of his actions, he found out what the inside of the Darwin Watch House looks like. NT Police will continue to take strong action against recidivist traffic offenders.”
The man was bailed and is due to appear in Darwin Local Court at a later date.
