In a bid to strengthen Indigenous organisations, he announced four new boats for the jewel in Katherine's tourism crown, Nitmiluk Tours, and a slew of upgrades for Kalano Community Corporation.
"With the right support, Indigenous Australians are growing sustainable businesses," Minister Wyatt said.
"When Indigenous businesses thrive, communities are more stable and the socio-economic prospects of a whole region are raised."
The funds come from royalties from the Aboriginals Benefit Account (ABA) and grants from the Morrison Government's Indigenous Advancement Strategy.
The Jawoyn Association will receive funding from the ABA along with a $320,000 grant already delivered under the Indigenous Entrepreneurs Fund to purchase the four new 66-seat boats, as well as property.
"These investments will reduce the costs of maintenance and repairs of their ageing boats and secure a revenue stream in the longer term to keep their Indigenous workforce employed," Minister Wyatt said.
"The money earned from the tours is reinvested in the business and other local social projects."
Kalano Community Corporation is set to receive a new garbage truck and compactor, upgraded offices and new infrastructure to store vehicles and make their grounds safer.
"The new truck will provide essential garbage removal services in three remote communities, Myalli Brumby, Rockhole, and Geyulkgan, and will lift the health and safety of the community," Minister Wyatt said.
"The service will also provide employment for local Indigenous people. And the refurbished office facilities will reduce overcrowding and provide more options to meet privately with clients in the delivery of community support programs."
"Jawoyn and Kalano are prime examples of how, with targeted investment from the Australian Government and the allocation of ABA royalties, Indigenous people can deliver solid results for their community."
