Just days after officially opening, Cringila's long-awaited bike trails have closed for the weekend due to heavy rain. A social media post by David Wood from Wollongong MTB Trails stated that the Cringilla Hills Mountain Bike Trails project manager asked him to let the community know the park was closed because of the huge amount of rain already and the predicted heavy rain this weekend. "The trails are still very new. They need some time to bed in," the post stated. "Riding them with this much rain on them will damage them. "When the sun comes back out and the trails dry out and bake in the sun, they will be primo. "Until then let's look after our brand new bike park by staying of the trails while they are wet. It is not going anywhere. It will pay dividends in the long run."
