There was already a fairly beautiful country garden on the 11 hectare property when antique dealer Grant Roberts sold it to veteran banker-turn-business adviser Peter Wade and his wife Sally in 2006 for $3.75 million.
Following the purchase the couple brought in landscape architect Michael Bligh, who has beautifully integrated the tennis court and swimming pool into the English-style garden and surround lawns, and somehow removed one of the islands in the front lake.
The result was enough to catch the eye of Point Piper-based Tarocash founder Stephen Leibowitz about three years ago, but failed to translate to any financial deal given the Wades's reluctance to sell at the time.
Things have changed for the Bellevue Hill-based family and their slightly older children since then. Drew Lindsay, of Drew Lindsay Real Estate, is taking expressions of interest of more than $5.5 million for the Glenquarry property.
