POLICE are calling for community assistance as they search for a Bushfires NT four-wheel drive stolen from a business premises on August 5.

At about 11.30pm on Wednesday, a white 2015 Toyota HiLux dual cab – Northern Territory registration NTG828251 – was stolen from the Katherine Conservation Commission compound at 32 Giles Street by being driven through the gates of the premises.
After the vehicle was stolen, it was involved in an attempted drive-off at the BP service station.
The vehicle is fitted with red and blue emergency beacons but its Bushfire NT stickers have been removed by the offenders.
Superintendent Megan Rowe said there were four occupants in the vehicle when it attempted the drive-off.
“The console operator identified four youths were with the vehicle at the time,” she said.
“The vehicle remains outstanding at this time.”
The vehicle contained emergency services radios and firefighting equipment.
