Tourism and Culture department CEO Alastair Shields said the department is “home to the best of the Territory’s great lifestyle, our parks, arts and cultural festivals, unique heritage and tourism experiences and first class sporting events”.
“The prizes in the Golden Ticket represent some of the Territory’s iconic experiences and events as well as the variety of work the Department of Tourism and Culture carries out in the community,” Mr Shields said.
“We’ve no doubt this is a ticket all Territorians will want to win.”
The department’s stand joins the family favourite Parks and Wildlife Commission display, which this year encourages visitors to “take a closer” look at the Territory’s tourism assets as well as our parks and reserves.
As part of the display, the stand will include Virtual Reality headsets showcasing the NT Government’s recent collaboration with Google, showcasing Uluru via Google Maps StreetView.
Show-goers will also be able to get up close and personal with snakes and a baby crocodile, meet their local park rangers, learn more about how to Be Crocwise and take a closer look at some of the plant and animal species of the Top End that are special to the region.
Territory residents over the age of 18, who visit the Department of Tourism and Culture stand, can enter the Golden Ticket competition.
The Top End winner will be drawn on Friday, August 4.
