Public session in Katherine on anti-discrimination

A public consultation session will be held in Katherine on the proposed modernisation of the Northern Territory's Anti-Discrimination Act.

It will be held on October 27 at noon, at the Government Centre conference room in Katherine.

The NT Government released a discussion paper aimed at modernising the Act,which was created in 1993.

The changes could see the introduction of anti-vilification laws in relation to sexual orientation, gender identity, intersex status, religious belief, disability or race.

Comments must be made on the discussion paper by December 3.
