It will begin at the Low Level Park at 9am (meet at 8.45am) and follow the River Loop bike path, over the Railway Bridge and return to the Low Level.
From there, participants can choose to finish at the Low Level Park or continue on to the old Springvale homestead and return.
We encourage families and children to get involved to honour Baron Karl von Drais who, in 1817, was the man credited with designing the first means of transport making use of two wheels arranged consecutively.
The bicycle has come a long way since that time, but the principle design feature remains the same.
Think of the countless thousands of miles journeyed by so many people in those 200 years and the enjoyment and benefit cycling has brought to the world.
Bike enthusiasts who attend the ride are encouraged to bring a picnic and enjoy some velocipede related poetry and a quiz following the ride.
