The Hawks’ speed and link running through the midfield was a feature of the opening term as was their accurate kicking for goal.
Final scores: Waratah 7.3 (45) lost to Big River Hawks 13.13 (91).

The Hawks will play away again this weekend, travelling to Darwin to take on Nightcliff at Norbuilt Oval on Sunday at 11.15am.
The girls team is set to play on Sunday at 1pm.
Saturday’s game was a forfeit because of the lack of numbers.
The first home game is now set for December 9.
