Anita Painter and Tracey Camfoo celebrated the launch of their books in Barunga last week.
The books were produced by local research assistants in Barunga and Katherine, employed through Western Sydney University as part of a child language research project.
A spokeswoman from Western Sydney University said free copies were distributed to Barunga community members.
“These books showcase Anita and Tracey’s childhood stories in Kriol with English translations, and feature beautiful illustrations by the school children at Barunga,” the spokeswoman said.
