The Cross Border Team has charged a 31-year-old man with drug offences following a traffic apprehension yesterday.

Detective Senior Sergeant Peter Malley said the man was apprehended at a police roadblock on the South Stuart Highway, Alice Springs.
“The vehicle was searched and 26 pounds of cannabis, 60 grams of liquid steroids, unsecured ammunition and $3700 in cash was seized,” he said.
“Forfeiture of the vehicle, which is registered in South Australia, will also be sought.”
The man was charged with:
- Supply commercial schedule two drug
- Possess commercial schedule two drug
- Possess schedule two trafficable quantity (anabolic steroids)
- Possess thing to administer dangerous drug
- Possess ammunition without a license
He was remanded in custody and is due to appear in the Alice Springs Local Court.
“If sold on the streets this cannabis had the potential to yield about $300,000. The Cross Border Team will continue to actively target the transportation of illicit substances across the borders into the Northern Territory,” Detective Senior Sergeant Malley said.
