The Sunrise Health Services Aboriginal Corporation, headquartered in Katherine, will receive $19,190 for “development of board financial report material and financial training”.
Chief Minister Michael Gunner announced 43 recipients of the Remote Aboriginal Development Fund to organisations across the Territory.
The RADF provides assistance for grant applicants to develop and deliver Aboriginal economic development and community capacity building initiatives in remote areas.
“The Government is investing in local jobs for local people because we know that a rewarding job greatly improves quality of life,” Mr Gunner said.
“These grants will support local jobs, deliver economic opportunities in some of the Territory’s most remote communities, and boost capacity building initiatives for Aboriginal organisations.
“We are investing in local jobs by supporting Aboriginal economic development and partnerships with Aboriginal people - who are an integral part of shaping the economic future of the NT.”
Mr Gunner said the funding also forms part of the Government’s Local Decision Making election promise to enhance community input into decision making.
