A police spokesman said police are calling for witnesses to the incident that occurred at the low level crossing in Adelaide River at about 4pm on Tuesday.
“Police believe a vehicle left the location a short time after a disturbance,” the spokesman said.
“A pedestrian was later located on the road with serious injuries.”
Anyone with information is urged to notify police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 to assist police with their inquiries.
