The NT Government’s Sport Voucher Scheme is helping by making it easier for children to take part in sport, active recreation and cultural activities.

The vouchers are available to every child enrolled in school from preschool to year 12, and home-schooled children. 

Minister for Tourism and Culture Lauren Moss said the vouchers encourage children to get out and enjoy the great Territory lifestyle.

“We want to give every child the best start in life – this is the right thing to do and the smart thing to do for all Territorians,” Ms Moss said.

“Since the beginning of the Sport Voucher Scheme, Territory families have redeemed more than 125,000 vouchers in urban areas.

“The vouchers open the door for kids to get active and healthy, and ensure they all have the opportunity to have a go at sports and a range of other activities.” 

Children living in an urban area are eligible to receive two $100 sport vouchers each year, one in January and one in July.

“Local councils and providers will work together to organise sport, active recreation and cultural activities for children living in remote communities,” Ms Moss said. 

“The scheme also includes the year-round Learn to Swim program, and parents of toddlers can access vouchers online for swimming lessons.” 

You can use vouchers at more than 300 registered sport, active recreation and cultural activity providers. 

Your child's sport voucher will be available from their school or via email from January 29. If your child is starting school for the first time, or is at a new school, you will need to apply online.
